Xingyiquan

Xingyiquan, which translates as form and intention boxing is simple, practical and direct.

Xingyi is based is based on the ability to apply force in 5 directions trained through short forms called the 5 elements or fists. This simplicity allows you to develop striking power quickly and efficiently. Below is a video of my teacher Luo De Xiu showing the 5 elements.

The training methods of Xingyiquan include standing meditation and breathing exercises, hand drills, the five fists/element, linking forms, partner exercises and animal forms (that are variations on the the 5 elements). One of the longer animal forms is the rooster, demonstrated below.
